Tell me it has no purpose (unedited)
on Thursday, Apr. 03, 2003 at 12:26 a.m.

I received good news and bad news this evening. My uncle called and said he heard from my cousin who is in Kuwait. He's doing well. He said things are a little uncomfortable because he can't take a shower as often as he likes and it's really hot there.

I'm gonna see if I can send him some kind of care package. I know of a place online where you can order those.

It is so hard to know someone you love is somewhere that you are unable to comfort them. That same little baby boy that I used to carry around in diapers, is a man now defending the honor of his country. That is so hard to fathom sometimes.

My sister just graduated from the Air Force and so did her new husband. They are both nervously waitng for their deployment call. A friend of mine, and another friend of my husband is on their way over there soon. My husband's cousin is worried too that he might be called. Also, my friend Doneen's son is in training. I'm praying every day for all of these people. Thank god there are people like them willing to offer their services for our freedom.

War is a horrible thing, one of the biggest evils of man. But unfortunately it is a neccessary evil.

I think it is stupid not to like someone because of their opinions on political issues and such. That is the great thing about this country we live in. That we have that freedom.

Did I vote to put Bush in office?

No I did not.

Do I like the war?

NO!

Do I think it is wrong for us to be over there?

No.

Will I support the war?

Yes. What can be accomplished without unity? If there is no unity, everything falls apart.

The only thing I think our country did wrong was to not finish things the last time we were over there. Including helping the Iraqi people rise against the dictatorship they are under. That was wrong. We should have stayed to help.

But after the things we experienced in Vietnam, we were afraid to get too involved in other country's affairs.

I am not angry at people that oppose war, I don't like it either.

I do believe we have a purpose in being there. It's not oil.

Iraqi people are being impoverished and enslaved by their government. They are being killed by their almighty president Saddam and government. They are being robbed of their money by their leaders who are living laviciously.

What about the 4 year old little girl on the first plane that hit the

World Trade Center?

What about all the parentless children and spouseless people thanks to September 11th?

That was our children and Civillians being killed.

Look at them and tell them this war has no purpose.

It's niave to believe Osama and Saddam are not linked.

What about our servicemen and women who have been killed the past couple of years when we were not at war.

Tell their families this war has no purpose.

Did everyone forget about the USS Cole?

Go to this link

http://www.celticmist.com/usscole.htm,

look at their faces, these people were murdered by terrorist.

Tell Craig Wibberley's mother that the murder of her son is not important to you. He grew up right down the road from me and was only 18 when he was killed.

Write my cousin in Kuwait, and tell him that while there are bombs flying over his head, that he's stupid for being there.

Tell all the men and women that have died in this war or who have been captured, tell their families that it was in vain. That it was for nothing.

Is it really safe to believe that Saddam and his people have no intention to harm the U.S.? Especially since it has happened numerous times before? We should just wait till it's here?

"Sure Saddam, play with your nukes, and tease us and threaten us all the time! That's okay!" We should be a pansy like that?

People who have not experienced loss as a direct effect of terrorism can easily sit and say we should do nothing about it.

We are sitting here in our homes safely, with all of our needs met, lost in commercialism and media propaganda. It is so easy to feel seperated from it all.

Hell, sometimes I think our country is too free. It's so free that Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, and Miss Anthrax can come here freely, get an Ivy league Education (that many american citizens are not offered), and then go back to their country and use that Ivy League Education to make plans to try and destroy us.

They want us to come apart at the seams, they want us to hurt, they want us to fall.

I don't want to aid that.

Unlike Iraq, our country is so free, we allow people to leave that don'tlike it here. next -- previous DISCLAIMER
